Some interesting insights from a recruiter having reviewed a bunch of ‘millennials’ CVs (born in the 80s/90s). I expected to read scathing pros about entitlement, etc, but must of this applies to all of us.
A couple of great takeaways:
1. ‘…a well-arranged CV can make you stand out, but a loud or overdesigned one will make you stand out for all the wrong reasons.’ Keep it simple and meaningful folks. Recruiters sift through 100s of CVs, and having to search for salient information is not only time consuming, it’s annoying.
2. ‘A cover letter is your opportunity to stand out’, and this article provides a simple & effective guide to do just that.
